LOOK

Lorraine Okley is a visual artist who works with photographs and collage to bring attention to threatened and endangered species in the natural world. Her work aims to appeal to the general public from an aesthetic point of view, while conveying the beauty of the natural world and the importance of preserving it.

My role

For this personal project, I was in charge of branding, graphic design and copywriting. I developed the brand strategy, including vision and mission statements as well as brand name, and created the visual identity for the company as well as on-brand designs, while also working on the landing page copywriting and design.

The challenge

Creating a brand identity for a visual artist that supports her message and communicates her personality, while not distracting from the visuals of her work.

The solution

A self-contained logo that plays with the concept of a watchful eye, encapsulating the artist's name (LOOK) and connecting to the notion of keeping watch on the natural world. The brand palette is made up of vibrant colours to emphasise the outspoken nature of the artist, while also including neutral white to be used when overlaying any text or the logo itself with the artworks.
