Milo's World

Milo’s World is a brand new musical that centres on one day in the life of a clay sculpture artist who struggles to finish a commissioned piece. The show explores themes of the passing of time, life and art and identity.

My role

For this commissioned project, I developed the visual identity for the musical, including the logo, typography and colours and also worked on poster designs and brand guidelines.

The challenge

The logo had to clearly convey the themes of the show, while being simple enough to work in a variety of applications.

The solution

The final chosen design centres on the image of the hourglass to provide an instant association with time. The colours and other illustrative elements within the hourglass are simple enough, while also lifting the design and contributing to its unique identity.

The result

The show was successfully performed as an online performance due to social-distancing restrictions in place at the time, with the trailer reaching 45K views on Facebook. The branding also influenced the musical itself with the hourglass shape of the logo featured in a crucial scene of the show.
